== Purpose ==

Insert &#123;&#123;[[template:web colors|web colors]]&#125;&#125; at the bottom of each page in which standard colors are defined. These sixteen named colors are defined in the [[Cascading Style Sheets|CSS]] specification; [[HTML 4.01]] also defines the same set of named colors, with the exception of [[orange (colour)|orange]]. For more info, see [[Web colors]].

== Usage ==

* <code><nowiki>{{web colors}}</nowiki></code> for simple cases
* <code><nowiki>{{web colors|colour}}</nowiki></code> to use the spelling "colour" instead of "color"
* <code><nowiki>{{web colors|state=...}}</nowiki></code> to control the show/hide collapsible option

Do not use <code >subst:</code > with this template. It is used in a small number of pages, but should always appear in identical form.

This template takes one optional named parameter, {{para|state}}. Use {{para|state|autocollapse}}, {{para|state|collapsed}}, or {{para|state|uncollapsed}} to make the output collapsible and control whether it is initially collapsed or shown. Use {{para|state|plain}} to make the output non-collapsible. The default is {{para|state|autocollapse}}.

This template takes one unnamed parameter: the usage <code><nowiki>{{web colors|colour}}</nowiki></code> can be used for pages where the "colour" spelling is standard. If not used, the "color" spelling is default.

Note that there is no way to get the spelling "grey" instead of "gray".
